Graveside services for Rev. Claudie Louise Gilchrest, 79 of Las Cruces, will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 31, 2008 at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX with Rev. Robert Blanton, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Miss. Gilchrest passed away Friday, May 23, 2008 in Las Cruces. She was born on January 18, 1929 in Motley County, TX to the late Mr. Ewell W. and Mrs. Ruth Gilchrest. Claudie had been a New Mexico resident for the past 47 years and had been a missionary for the Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by one brother Thomas M. Gilchrest. She is survived by two sisters, Bernice A. Chewning of Bella Vista, AR; Mildred F. Blanton of Las Cruces; eight nieces and nephews, Vita Steinkamp, Linda Whitacker, Annette Kannaday, Tonjia Davis, Charlotte Duvall, Ronald Blanton, Douglas Blanton and Wendell Blanton. Visitation will be at Hughs Funeral Home on Saturday, May 31, 2008 from 10:00 AM until 1:00PM.
