Graveside services for Charles E. Brown, 85, of Canadian, TX will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 14, 2005 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Matt Cook, officiating. Services are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Brown died Saturday, November 12, 2005 in Canadian, TX. Mr. Brown was born on November 2, 1920 in Channing, TX to the late Mr. Charles C. Brown and Mrs. Edna Clark Brown. He was a graduate of Dumas High School. Charles farmed in the Middlewell Community twelve miles west of Dumas in Moore County. He married Ailsa Burns of May 31, 1941 in Clayton, NM. She preceded him in death on October 18, 2000. He moved to Canadian, TX in 1945 from Dumas, TX. Charles served on North Plains Electric Board in Perryton from 1965 to 1986 and was a past Deacon of the First Christian Church in Canadian, TX. He was a rancher in Hemphill County from 1945 until 1986. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bus Brown and J.T. Brown, one grandson, Lynn Charles Wilburn in 1973. He is survived by one son, Terry Brown and wife Kay of Canadian, TX; two daughters, Sandy Lyons and husband Ron of Canadian, TX; Jo Wilburn and husband Bob of Abilene, TX; one sister Sue Eden of Cottonwood, AZ; seven granddaughters, Julie Wright of Spring, TX; Wendi Stephens of Childress, TX; Kasi Wiley of Canadian, TX; Jenny Frazier of Abilene, TX; Penny Orrell of Canadian, TX; Marti Kauk of Canadian, TX and Hilary Beedy of Canadian, TX and 11 great-grandchildren.
