Services for Mrs. Helen Freelen Cabler, 79, of Memphis, TX will be at 10:00 AM Friday, May 23, 2008 at the United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Rick Musick, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Cabler passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in Childress, TX. Helen was born July 21, 1928 in Lamar, TX to the late Mr. Jim Freelen and Mrs. Ethel Doss Freelen. She attended schools in Lamar, TX. She married J.B. Cabler on February 13, 1943 in Paris, TX. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1967. They moved to Hall County in April of 1961 from Grand Prairie, TX. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of the United Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Louise Cabler and one grandson, Jerry Brent Cabler. She is survived by three sons, Ray Cabler and wife Susan, Donald Cabler and wife Shirley, Earl Cabler and wife Debbie all of Memphis, TX; six daughters, Barbara Cabler, Nancy Chastain and Dorothy Caylor and husband William all of Memphis, TX; Levinie Thompson and husband Lawrence of Clovis, TX; Dean Dumas and husband David of Lindale, TX; Debbie Kent and husband Kenny of Kyle, TX; three brothers, James Freelen of Detroit, TX; Newt Freelen of Blossom, TX; Kenneth Freelen of Alma, AR; three sisters, Dorothy Jewell of Vancouver, AR; Mary Sue Brumbalow of Bagwell, TX; Frankie Gurley of Memphis, TX; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the United Pentecostal Church, 521 N. 9th St., Memphis, TX 79245.
