Private memorial services for Fermanetta Bartlett, 93, of Canadian, TX will be Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Zanne Ness, officiating. Inurnment will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Fermanetta passed away Friday, October 4, 2013 in Amarillo, TX. Fermanetta was born October 16, 1918 in Osceola, TX to the late Mr. Ferman Sawyer and Mrs. Laura (Malone) Sawyer. She was a 1935 graduate of Canadian High School. She then went on to graduate from West Texas State University in 1939 with a degree in Education. She married William “Bill” Bartlett on November 10, 1940 in Canadian, TX. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2009. Fermanetta was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter I in Canadian, TX and the First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Mueller and her grandson, Tim Bartlett on November 1, 1989. She is survived by two sons, Tom Bartlett and wife Sue and Terrill Bartlett and wife Ronda all of Canadian, TX; three daughters, Rev. Zanne Ness and husband Terry of Bismarck, ND; Jane Brenner and husband Fred of Weatherford, TX; Laura Breakfield and husband Bill of Crandall, TX; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
