Services for Paulette Brooks King, 64, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 16, 2013 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Justin Coleman, officiating and Rev. Jared Berry and Rev. Danny Sanders, assisting. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Paulette passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 in Canadian, TX. Paulette was born March 4, 1949 in Canadian, TX to the late Mr. Buster B. Brooks and Mrs. Winnie (Mosteller) Brooks. She attended schools in Canadian. She married Buddy King on December 22, 1965 at the First Christian Church in Canadian. Paulette was a partner and bookkeeper for the family business. She has been a member of the Abundant Life Assembly of God since 1978 and a lifelong resident of Canadian. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Brooks and Wayne Brooks and two sisters, Connie Halson and Kay Taylor. She is survived by her husband, Buddy King of Canadian, TX; her children, Kristi Lowery of Canadian, TX; Kari Key and husband Scott of Amarillo, TX; Ken King and wife Robin of Canadian, TX; her grandchildren, Kimberly Lowery of Canadian, TX; Hailey Philips of Amarillo, TX; Kendra Lowery of Canadian, TX; Quenton Philips of Amarillo, TX; Marley Philips of Amarillo, TX; Kaleb King of Canadian, TX; Karis King of Canadian, TX; her great-grandchild, Aven Philips of Amarillo, TX; her sisters, Daphine Traywick of Abbeville, LA; Vona Benge of Canadian, TX; Zelda Roberson of Breckenridge, TX.
