Graveside services for Mrs. Hazel Williams, 76, of Canadian, TX will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with her son-in-law Bo Rankin, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Williams passed away Monday, April 14, 2008 in Canadian, Texas. Hazel was born on January 26, 1932 in San Angelo, TX to the late Mr. Harvey McMeans and Mrs. Mahala (Gassiot) McMeans. She attended grammar school in San Angelo, TX and graduated from Lakeview High School. She married Roy Williams on March 2, 1951 in Bront, TX. They moved to Canadian, TX in 1971 from Sherman, TX. Hazel worked for Abraham Clinic for 30 years as a medical assistant. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she taught the 1 year old class for 30 years. She was preceded in death by two brothers. She is survived by her husband, Roy Williams of Canadian, TX; two sons, Tony Ray Williams and wife Pam of Melissa, TX; Ronny Jay Williams and wife Dena of Van Alstyne, TX; one daughter, Tresea Rankin and husband Bo of Canadian, TX; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.. The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 706 Main, Canadian, TX 79014 or the Ann Shore Scholarship Fund, Box 395, Dumas, TX 79029.
