Zeno Hope Lemons

Memphis, TX – Funeral services for Zeno Hope Lemons, 87, of Memphis, TX, will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Memphis Church of Christ with Mr. Mark Lance officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the personal care of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Zeno Hope Lemons was born on November 19, 1925, in Brice, TX, to Earnest Franklin and Vernon Daisy (Reed) Lemons. He passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, in Memphis, TX. Zeno went to schools in Brice and Lakeview before he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Syvilla Saunders on May 25, 1947, in Memphis, TX. He worked for J.M. Ferrell at Memphis Tire & Supply for 17 years. Following his work there he owned an Auto Parts store and later he owned the Texaco Station. In 1974, they moved to Granbury where he owned White’s Auto & Carwash until he retired in 1995. They moved back to Memphis in December 2000. Zeno was a member of the Memphis Church of Christ. He served as a Deacon and an Elder and also taught Sunday school. He loved to fish and woodworking. While in Granbury, he helped establish the Lake Granbury Vintage Car Club. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Scott & Bud Lemons and a sister, Earnestine Cross. He is survived by his daughter, Camilla Maddox & husband Robert of Memphis, TX, his son, David Lemons & wife Deborah of Lewisville, TX, his grandchildren, Dustin Lemons, Brandon Lemons, Amber Lemons Kelm and Stephen Maddox, six great grandchildren and 1 due on July 1st and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
