Billy Hancock

Graveside services for Mr. Billy Hancock, 82, of Lakeview, TX will be at 3:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2008 at Fairview Cemetery Chapel in Memphis, TX with Rev. Rick Musick, Officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mr. Hancock passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 in Plainview, TX. He was born on August 28, 1925 in Hall County, TX to the late Mr. O.M. Hancock and Mrs. Ruby (Smith) Hancock. He was a graduate of Lakeview High School. He married Frances Odell (Newbrough) Hancock on July 14, 1956 in Memphis, TX. She preceded him in death on November 12, 2004. He was a lifelong resident of Hall County. Billy was a member of the 32nd Degree Knights Templar of the Masonic Lodge and a farmer until retiring in 2005. He was also a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marion Hancock in the early 1980’s, his grandson, William Jerrod Preston Hancock on February 28, 2007. He is survived by his son, Carl Hancock and wife Nicole of Lakeview, TX; one brother, Jake Hancock of Lakeview, TX; two grandchildren, Carlye Nicole Hancock and Lindsey Allyse Jett Hancock both of Lakeview, TX.
