Services for Deana Gardiner, 59, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Sanders, officiating and Elder Gail Faries, assisting. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Deana passed away Friday, May 3, 2013 in Upland, CA. Deana was born April 13, 1954 in Perryton, TX to Mr. Byrl Hardy and the late Mrs. Wanda (Britton) Hardy. She was a 1972 graduate of Perryton High School and received her associate degree from Amarillo College. She married Mike Gardiner on May 26, 1984 in Amarillo, TX. Deana was a lodge manager for the IV Lodge & Vineyard for the past 9 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was also a member of several organizations including the Comancheria Chapter, Daughters of American Revolution, Rushing Wind Emmaus and Sagebrush Artists. She is survived by her husband, Mike Gardiner of Canadian, TX; her children, Will “Tra” Johnson and wife Laura of Arlington, TX; Brandon Johnson of Houston, TX; Allen Gardiner and wife Leslie of Frisco, TX; Stacy Hunzeker and husband Eric of McKinney, TX; Chad Gardiner and wife Tara of Lubbock, TX; her father, Byrl Hardy and wife Marjory of Perryton, TX; her grandchildren, Kate and Kelly Johnson of Arlington, TX; Hagen and Haylie Gardiner of Frisco, TX; Emma and Maddie Hunzeker of McKinney, TX; Mason and Ellie Gardiner of Lubbock, TX; her brother, Jerry Hardy and wife Kelly of Red River, NM; her sister, Donna Brittain and husband Bill of Yokaum, TX and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and many friends. Deana was scheduled to walk in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk this fall. She was a breast cancer survivor and committed to finding a cure.
