Richard Clifton Steadman Sr.

Canadian: (Special) - Services for Richard C. Steadman Sr., 93, of Canadian, TX will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 7, 2005 at First Christian Church with Matt Cook, officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 7, 2005 in Fairview Park Cemetery in St. John, KS under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Steadman died Tuesday, October 4, 2005 in Canadian, TX. He was born on June 23, 1912 in Arkansas to the late Mr. Jasper Steadman and Mrs. Blanche Galpen Steadman. He attended schools in Stafford County, KS. He moved to Canadian, TX in 1960 from Woodward, OK. He married June Steadman on August 15, 1963 in Canadian, TX. She preceded him in death on May 9, 2004. Richard was a roughneck for 32 years and a member of the First Christian Church. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Hood in 2003. He is survived by five sons, Richard C. Steadman Jr. of Hutcheson, KS; Gary Steadman of Colwich, KS; Larry Steadman of Ft. Worth, TX; Jerry Steadman of Liberal, KS; Terry Steadman of Oklahoma City, OK and numerous grandchildren. The family suggest memorials be to the First Christian Church, 402 Purcell Ave., Canadian, TX 79014.
