Services for Mrs. Lila Ranson, 74, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church in Canadian, TX with Rev. Danny Sanders, officiating and Tom Moore, assisting. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Lila passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 in Canadian, TX. Lila was born November 5, 1938 in Elmwood, OK to the late Mr. Hezzie Holder and Mrs. Amanda (Kile) Holder. She was a 1956 graduate of Beaver High School in Beaver, OK. She married Arden Ranson on November 18, 1956 at the First Baptist Church in Beaver, OK. They moved to Canadian in 1959 from Pampa, TX. Lila worked for the Canadian CO-OP as an office manager for a number of years. She enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of the Canasta Club. She also enjoyed going dancing. Lila played the organ and piano for the First Christian Church for 25 years and 15 years for the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Maple Marie Holder and Twila Holder and her great-grandson, Samuel Williams. She is survived by her husband, Arden Ranson of Canadian, TX; two daughters, Teresa Potts of Austin, TX; Glenda Moore and husband Tom of Canyon, TX; her brother, Wayne Holder of Seattle, WA; 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
