Memphis, TX -- Services for Robert Ernest Clark Jr., M.D., 75, of Memphis, TX, will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 28, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Memphis, TX, with Rev. O.K. Bowen officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Dr. Clark passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2005 in Claude, TX. He was born on January 21, 1930 in Dallas, TX to the late Mr. Robert Clark, Sr. and Mrs. Katherine (Freeman) Clark. He grew up in Memphis, TX and graduated from Memphis High School in 1945. He graduated from Baylor University in Waco, TX in 1949, and went on to graduate from Baylor Medical School in Houston in 1953. Dr. Clark married Marty Uebersetzig on April 26, 1952 in Houston, TX. He served his internship at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, TX. In 1954, they moved to Memphis, where he opened his private practice, Clark Clinic. Dr. Clark retired in 2001 after many years of dedicated service to the residents of Hall county. He was a Mason and was involved in the Memphis Rotary Club. He was on the School Board for many years, serving as president. Dr. Clark was a pilot and a HAM radio operator. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Memphis, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bill Clark in 1989. He is survived by his wife, Marty, of Memphis; one daughter, Martha Britton of Plano, Texas; four sons, Robert Clark III, M.D. of Memphis, Texas; David Clark of Jacksonville, Texas; James Clark of Memphis, Texas; and Richard Clark of Cypress, Texas; one brother, John Clark of Michigan; eight grandchildren; one cousin, Ann Brother of Lorenzo, TX; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 726, Memphis, TX 79245, or the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
