Canadian: (Special) – Graveside services for Travis Hardin, 84, of Canadian, TX will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2005 at Pie Flat Cemetery in Roll, OK with Ben Mathers, officiating. Services are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Hardin died Saturday, September 24, 2005 in Canadian, TX. Mr. Hardin was born on May 22, 1921 in Crawford, OK to the late Mr. William Hardin and Mrs. Bessie Mae Bullard Hardin. He was a graduate of Crawford High School in Crawford, OK. He married Wanda Mae Barber on September 19, 1940 in Crawford, OK. She preceded him in death on March 2, 1990. Travis moved to Canadian, TX in 1954 from Hammon, OK. He was a rancher from 1955 to 1962. He then worked at the Canadian Grain CO-OP as a mill foreman until retiring in 1983. He then owned and operated a liquid feed business. He also loved to hunt, fish, dance and bowl with his wife and family. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jack Hardin and one sister, June Barber. He is survived by two sons, Wendell G. Hardin and wife Rana of Canadian, TX; Charles T. Hardin and wife Roberta of Elk City, OK; one sister, Wanzell Davis of Elk City, OK; 6 grandchildren, Terrel Hardin of Canadian, TX; Tim Hardin of Elk City, OK; Ty Hardin of Sayre, OK; Julie Hubl of Wichita, KS; Vicky Arnold of Texas City, TX; Kendra Hardin of Chicago, IL. The family suggests memorials be to the Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014.
