Services for Clara Bell Wootton, 97, of Canadian, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Central Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Timmons, officiating. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Clara passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 in Canadian, TX. Clara was born July 9, 1915 in Honey Grove, TX to the late Mr. John Henry Rogers and Mrs. Mae (Frazier) Rogers. She married Chester Wootton on December 26, 1931 in Willow, OK. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1997. She moved to Canadian, TX in 1931 from Willow, OK. Clara worked at the Canadian School Cafeteria for 7 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and a past member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her son, Roger Wootton and her daughter, Ima Jean Curnutt, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two sons, Tommy Wootton and wife Belle of Amarillo, TX; Dwayne Wootton and wife Connie of Canyon, TX; one daughter, Joyce Howard and husband Edward of Glazier, TX; one sister, Joni Mae Culberson of Springfield, AR; her daughter-in-law, Judy Wootton of Canadian, TX; 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014.
