Eva Lena Kennard Memphis, TX – Funeral services for Eva Lena Kennard, 100, of Lesley, TX, will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 7, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Memphis with Rev. Royce Denton officiating and Rev. Daniel Downey assisting. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery under the personal care of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 6th from 4-6 at Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, TX. Eva Lena Kennard was born on October 1, 1912, in Paradise, Texas, to R.N. and Mona (Read) Clark. She passed away on January 4, 2013, in Amarillo, TX. Eva Lena Kennard married Marcus D. “Punk” Kennard on November 27, 1932, in Estelline, TX. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1981. Eva Lena was a homemaker and was involved in various organizations. She was a resident of the Lesley community for 90 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Memphis.. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a granddaughter, Paula Kennard and three brothers, J.W., Quilla & W.O. Clark. Eva Lena is survived by her son, Gurvis D. Kennard & wife Frances of Amarillo, two daughters, Wanda Zell Payne & husband Gerald of Euless, TX and Retha June Stewart of Lesley, TX, two brothers, Robert Clark of Memphis, TX and Arthur Clark of Lesley, TX, one sister, Mary Etta Crabtree of San Antonio, six grandchildren, Vicki McCraw & husband Danny, Staci Smith & husband Mark, Jennifer Smith & husband Allan, Charles Marcus Stewart, Clay Stewart & wife Kris and Larry Ketron, seven great grandchildren, Lexy, Stetson & Hudson Smith, Elizabeth Tirone & husband Nick, Michelle Smith and Erin & Ava Stewart, two great-great grandchildren, Brooklyn & Mason Tirone and many nieces & nephews.
