Maurine Montgomery

Services for Maurine Montgomery, 94, of Richardson, TX, will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at Hughs Memorial Chapel in Memphis, TX, with Tom Posey officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX. Arrangements are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Montgomery passed away on Monday, August 8, 2005 in Rowlett, TX. She was born on June 6, 1911 in Memphis, TX to the late E.P. Thompson and Willie (Franks) Thompson. She grew up in Memphis, Tx. She graduated from Memphis High School and attended SMU. She married Herschel Montgomery on April 9, 1949 in Amarillo, TX. Mrs. Montgomery moved to Richardson over fifty years ago. She was a former member of First Baptist Church in Memphis. She was an active member of the Richardson Women's Club and was a housewife. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 1, 2000; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters. She is survived by 3 nephews, Billy Thompson of Rowlett, TX; Matt Thompson of Copper Canyon, TX; Jay Campbell of Borger, TX; and 2 nieces, Carol Peters of Arlington, TX; and Chris Corbett of Amarillo, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 726, Memphis, TX 79245, or the Fairview Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 265, Memphis, TX 79245. The family will recieve friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at the funeral home.
