Services for Pansy Srygley, 100, of Memphis, TX will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 6, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Boles, officiating and Brother Woodrow Richardson, assisting. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home in Memphis, Texas. Mrs. Srygley passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 in Memphis, TX. Pansy was born on December 26, 1906 in Delta, TX where she was raised by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Veasey. She was a graduate of Clarendon High School and then went on to graduate from Goodnight College with a teaching degree. She married Clent Srygley on May 21, 1929 in Lakeview, TX. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1977. They moved to Memphis, TX in 1942 from Lakeview, TX. She has taught school in Leslie, Lakeview and Memphis before retiring after 30 years. Upon retiring she substituted for another 10 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Dawson and Bob Dawson. She is survived by one son, Gilbert Srygley of Memphis, TX; one daughter, Frankye Goldston and husband Jim of Memphis, TX; two grandsons, Jim Bob Goldston and wife Lori of Forney, TX; Clent Goldston and wife Julie of Greenville, TX and five great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to your favorite charity.
