Memorial services for Nina Cowan, 54, of Amarillo, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 at The River Ministries in Canadian, TX with Rev. Donald Hill, Officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Cowan passed away Wednesday, November 7, 2007 in Amarillo, TX. Nina was born on October 5, 1953 in Perryton, TX to Mrs. Sara Buschman Nealy and the late Mr. Alvin Nealy. She attended grammar school in Stinnett, TX and high school in Amarillo, TX. She then attended one year at Apostolic Faith Bible School in Baxter Springs, KS. She also attended TCJC Junior College at Ft. Worth, TX where she was on the Dean’s Honor Roll. She married Dannie Cowan on December 1, 1974 in Balko, OK. She was owner and operator of an upholstery shop in Perryton, TX from 1981 until 1991. She was a member of Gray Church in Balko, OK. She was preceded in death by one son, Christopher Cowan on December 3, 2004. She is survived by two daughters, Candi Pickett and husband Randy of Perryton, TX; Amy Cowan of Balko, OK; her mother, Sara Nealy of Canadian, TX; three brothers, Richard Nealy of Phoenix, AZ; Travis Nealy of Perryton, TX; Gordon Nealy of Portland OR; three sisters, Joella Karber of Balko, OK; Becky Nealy of Austin, TX; Major Jane Nealy of Tacoma, WA; two grandchildren, Claire Cowan of Liberal, KS and Carter Pickett of Perryton, TX.
