Services for Warren Lingg, 81, of Canadian, TX will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Dean English, officiating and Donald Hill, assisting. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Warren passed away Sunday, September 16, 2012 in Canadian, TX. Warren was born March 9, 1931 in Dacoma, OK to the late Mr. Wayne Lingg and Mrs. Dorothy (Hiatt) Lingg. He was a 1949 graduate of Quinlan High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving in the Korean Conflict. He married Donna Myers on October 26, 1956 in Enid, OK. They moved to Canadian in 1958 from Wichita, KS. Warren went to work for Best Way Market for a couple of years and then began operating Red Top Station and later operated the Oasis Truck Stop. After a brief retirement they purchased and operated Linggs Texaco. He was a member of the American Legion and had served on the Canadian City Council for 10 years. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Lonnie Wayne Lingg. He is survived by his wife, Donna Lingg of Canadian, TX; two daughters, Ellen Wainwright and husband Roger of Canadian, TX; Teresa Lingg of Oklahoma City, OK; one sister, Betty C. Plymesser of Arnett, OK; 5 grandchildren, Willie Chris Briggs of Arlington, TX; Kimberly Morrison of Allen, TX; Kirk Briggs of Bremerton, WA; Misty Wainwright of Weatherford, TX; Kody Dewey of Oklahoma City, OK; 7 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and two nieces and two nephews.
