Ray Northrup Canadian: (Special) – Graveside services for Ray Northrup, 87, of Canadian, TX will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Donald Hill, officiating. Services are under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Northrup died Thursday, May 5, 2005 in Canadian, TX. He was born on August 5, 1917 in Higgins, TX to the late Mr. Harry Northrup and Mrs. Kate Sprouse Northrup. He attended schools of Higgins, TX. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He married Nell Boyle on December 4, 1946 in Jacksboro, TX. She preceded him in death on May 30, 1990. He moved to Canadian, TX in 1947 from Higgins, TX. He worked in the oil field and was a member of the VFW. He was preceded in death by one son, Utah Adkins, four brothers, Sherwood Northrup, Ralph Northrup, Burt Northrup and Ira E. Northrup, three sisters, Lois Walcher, Virginia Eggleston and Clara Eggleston. He is survived by two grandchildren, Tony Adkins of Briscoe, TX; Tonya Tarbet of Sayre, OK; 7 great-grandchildren.
