Services for Evalyn (Sheets) Ludden, 87, of Cleburne, TX will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Canadian, TX with Rev. John Dorn, officiating. Burial will be in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Evalyn passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 in Burleson, TX. Evalyn was born January 18, 1925 in Chickasha, OK to the late Mr. Roy Edgar Sheets and Mrs. Ella (Spradling) Sheets. She attended grammar school at Wolf Creek in Hemphill County and was a 1942 graduate of Canadian High School. Evalyn also received her LVN license and worked 18 plus years for the Borger Hospital. She also worked for Dr. Ingram, Dr. Hays and Dr. Hull in Borger. She married Melvin “Herb” Ludden on July 6, 1943 in San Diego, CA. They moved to Borger, TX in 1952 from Canadian, TX. She was a long time member of Wesleyan Methodist Church in Borger. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Catherine Sessions and Mildred James. She is survived by her husband, Melvin “Herb” Ludden of Cleburne, TX; three sons, James Dale Ludden and wife Patty of Cleburne, TX; David Kenneth Ludden and wife Rose of Leander, TX; Gary Stephen Ludden of Cleburne, TX; 7 grandchildren, Les Ludden and wife Lori, Terri Ludden Dalrymple and husband Stephen, Dustin Wayne Ludden, Sky Bales and husband Cary, Clyde Scent and wife Jamie and Travis Scent and wife Ashley and 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 24, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hughs Funeral Home, 203 South 3rd St. Canadian, TX 79014.
