Services for Gracie Pearl Norris, 92, of Canadian, Texas, will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, July 30, 2007 at the First Christian Church with Gilbert Forrest, officiating. Burial will follow in the Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mrs. Norris passed away Friday, July 27, 2007 in Canadian, Texas. Gracie Pearl was born May 16, 1915 in Rankin, OK to the late Mr. James Gilbert and Mrs. Mina Burton Gilbert. She was a 1933 graduate of Canadian High School. She married Calvert Norris on December 1, 1935 in Canadian, TX. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1992. She was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church where she was baptized on May 19, 1926. She was a member of the Sage Brush Painters Club, Arts & Crafts Club and she was also a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Gregory Dan Urschel and by a sister, Erma Forrest. She is survived by one son, Jerel Norris and wife Diane of Canadian, TX; two daughters, Jolene Urschel and husband Dan of Canadian, TX; Karen Pitcock of Ada, OK; 8 grandchildren, Dana Pinkston and husband Todd, Ken Urschel and wife Christine, Laura Lee Walser and husband John, Jered Norris and wife Lindsay all of Canadian, TX; Scott Spoon and wife Lana of Yukon, OK; Shawn Spoon and wife Shannon of Bentonville, AR; Trent Pitcock and wife Bridget of Rogers, AR; Lisa McEntire and husband Keith of Krum, TX; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Edward Abraham Memorial Home, 803 Birch, Canadian, TX 79014.
