Services for Larry Albin, 66, of Canadian, Texas, will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 27, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church with Daryl Wynn, officiating and Rev. Monte Kreis, assisting. Burial will follow in the Follett Cemetery in Follett, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, Texas. Mr. Albin passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2007 in Canadian, Texas. Larry was born April 14, 1941 in Beaver, OK to the late Mr. Robert Albin and Mrs. Ruth Custer Albin. He was a 1959 graduate of Follett High School and then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science from Texas Tech University in 1964. He married Connie Jo Heil on August 19, 1961 in Follett, TX. They moved to Canadian, TX in 1963 from Lubbock, TX. Larry was a banker for over 40 years, having been employed by Canadian Production Credit Association and serving as president for 31 years. During his years with the Production Credit Association, Larry received recognition for his leadership and insight in the lending business and for training and mentoring new employees. He later retired from First State Bank in Canadian, TX and went on to work with his son David in the oilfield. He was active in the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Canadian Rotary Club and volunteered his time with several civic projects. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. Larry is survived by his wife, Connie Albin of Canadian, TX; two sons, David Albin and wife Amy of Canadian, TX; John Albin of Amarillo, TX; one daughter, Darcee Dosher and husband Darrell of Canadian, TX; one brother, Robert Albin and wife Donna of Lubbock, TX; six grandchildren, Paden Albin, Samantha Albin and Dawson Albin all of Amarillo, TX; Bo Albin, Alex Smith and Shelby Albin, all of Canadian.
