Boyt Walls

Services for Boyt “Jiggs” Walls, 87, of Lakeview, TX will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at the First Baptist Church in Memphis, TX with Eugene Weldon , officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mr. Walls passed away Saturday, June 30, 2007 in Amarillo, TX. Jiggs was born on August 31, 1919 in Leslie, TX to the late Mr. Thomas Walls and Mrs. Kitty Ingram Walls. He attended grammar school in Leslie, TX and was a graduate of Lakeview High School. He then went on and attended college at West Texas State University. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. He married Lillie Mae Richerson on August 31, 1946 in Estelline, TX. She preceded him in death on April 11, 1996. He was a lifelong resident of Hall County and a farmer. He was the superintendent of the Lakeview Water and Sewer System for 39 1/2 years. He was also a member of the American Legion and Hedley Senior Citizens. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Freida Pitts and Susie Hopper. He is survived by one son, Tommy Walls of Shreveport, LA; two daughters, Maurice Rogers and husband John of Killeen, TX; Linda Will and husband Bryant of Lamar, CO; one sister, Luella Spruill and husband W.H. “Dub” of Amarillo, TX; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to the Lakeview Cemetery Association, Rt. 1, Lakeview, TX 79239.
