Graveside services for Don Satterwhite, 74, of Higgins, TX will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the Higgins Cemetery with Donald Hill, officiating and Shawn Davis, assisting. Masonic rites will be conducted by the Pampa Masonic Lodge # 1381, A.F. & A.M. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Satterwhite passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 in Canadian, TX. Don was born January 29, 1937 in Higgins, TX to the late Mr. Carl Satterwhite and Mrs. Madeline (Gamble) Satterwhite. He was a 1955 graduate of Bishop High School in the Bishop Community. He married Tex Carr on March 29, 1963 in Colorado Springs, CO. He was a lifelong resident of Ellis County. He was a member of the Saint Alban Masonic Lodge # 192, A.F. & A.M in Arnett, OK; he served on the Higgins Volunteer Fire Department, past school board member of the Arnett Independent School District. Don was a farmer and rancher and a member of the Higgins Church of Christ. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Satterwhite and his brother, Lon Satterwhite. He is survived by his wife, Tex Satterwhite of Higgins, TX; his daughter, Donna Stubblefield and husband Randy of Pampa, TX; two brothers, James Satterwhite and wife Wilma of Monument, CO; Max Satterwhite and wife Vicky of Panhandle, TX; one sister, Margaret Erma Hackett of Amarillo, TX; his granddaughter, Mandy Cross of Pampa, TX; two step-grandchildren, Ty Stubblefield of Pampa, TX; Shelly Bragg of McKinney, TX; four step-great-grandchildren, Cassie, Korie and Brynna Stubblefield all of Pampa, TX; Mackenzy Bragg of McKinney, TX. The family suggests memorials to the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106 or Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South 4th St., Canadian, TX 79014.
