Climon Lanton " Pete" Anglin

Memphis, TX: (Special) – Services for Mr. Climon Lanton Anglin, 86, of Memphis, TX will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Elder Don Watson officiating and Elder Lymon Little, assisting. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, TX under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Climon passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 in Memphis, TX. Climon was born March 4, 1925 in Newlin, Texas to the late Mr. Lee Creighton Anglin and Mrs Edelia Downey Anglin. He was a graduate of Memphis High School Class of 1942. He married Charlene Griffith Anglin on June 20, 1953 in Memphis Texas. Climon worked for the Memphis steam laundry for one year prior to his entry into the United States Navy in 1943, serving his country in WWII. He returned to Memphis after the service, where he eventually began working at the Memphis Compress until he retired in 1990. Climon was a member of the American Legion as well as the Lone Pilgrim Primitive Baptist church in Wellington TX. He is preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. He is survived by wife Charlene Anglin of Memphis TX; two daughters Alice Ricke and husband Roger of Wellington, KS; Priscilla Dickerson and husband Mark of Hawley, TX; one son, Jason Anglin and wife Karen of Port Lavaca; and seven grandchildren Andrew Ricke of St.Louis, MO; Matthew Ricke of Lawrence, KS; Chelsea Ricke of Wellington, KS; Jacob Dickerson of Hawley, TX; Holli Dickerson of Hawley,TX; Blake Anglin of Port Lavaca, TX; Emma Anglin Port Lavaca, TX. The family would like to send special thanks to Road Runner Hospice, Frankie and Edward Gurly as well as their many other friends The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 3, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hughs Funeral Home, 514 N 10th St., Memphis, TX 79245. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the charity of your choice or your local hospice organization.
