Services for E.L. “Buck” Dixon, 79, of Memphis, TX will be at 9:00 A.M. Friday, July 15, 2011 at Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Johnnie Snider, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Buck was born September 16, 1931 in Plaska, TX to the late Mr. James E. Dixon and Mrs. Lillian E. (Huggins) Dixon. He was a 1949 graduate of Memphis High School. He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He married Jessie Hammonds on February 1, 1953 in Clovis, NM. She preceded him in death on December 1, 2007. They lived in Stinnett, TX from 1957 until moving to Memphis in 1994. Buck worked in the oilfield for a number of years. He was also a member of Victory Baptist Church in Stinnett, TX. He is preceded in death by his brother, James “J.O.” Dixon. He is survived by his son, Randy Dixon and wife Melody of Borger, TX; his daughter, Darlis Cooper and Tony Echavarria of Borger, TX; five grandchildren, Mikiel Cooper of Borger, TX; Billy Cooper and Brandi Cooper both of Stinnett, TX; Derrick Dixon and wife Carla of Brownfield, TX; Delana Dixon of Oklahoma City, OK; five great-grandchildren, Mikela Cooper of Grove, OK; Mackenzie, MaKya and Kalie Cooper all of Stinnett, TX and Randi Dixon of Brownfield, TX.
