Services for Royce Leon Crisler, 84, of Midland, TX, will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Hughs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Memphis, TX with Dr. Channing Crisler, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mr. Crisler passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011 in Midland, TX. Royce was born June 2, 1927 in Memphis, TX to the late Mr. Victor Crisler and Mrs. Oma (Rasco) Crisler. He attended schools in Memphis, TX. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps serving in World War II. He married Eva Jean “Cherry” Crisler on July 7, 1945 at the Parson’s home in Hedley, TX. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2010. They moved to Midland, TX in 1974 from Abilene, TX. Royce started working for H.O. Wooten Wholesale Grocery as a salesman in 1946 in Memphis. He would later retire from Powell Brother’s Sundown Market in Midland, TX in 2005 as a grocery buyer. He was a member of the American Legion and the Antique Automobile Club of America of the West Texas Region. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Jeffrey Patterson and his brother, E.H. “Fritz” Crisler. He is survived by two sons, Lanny Crisler and wife Donna of Devine, TX; Larry Crisler and wife Sharon of Lubbock, TX; 7 grandchildren, Victoria “Leigh” Danielson and husband Rod of Camano Island, WA; Lana Armstrong of Seattle, WA; Kim Barnett and husband Brian of Lubbock, TX; Channing Crisler and wife Kelley of Hardinsburg, KY; Laura Stanley and husband Chad of Midland, TX; Rhianna Varnador and husband Eddie of Cotulla, TX; Michelle Dennis of Wichita Falls, TX; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 13, 2011 at Hughs Funeral Home, 514 N 10th St., from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
