Tommie Johnson

Services for Tommie Johnson Sr., 79, of Memphis, TX, will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the First Baptist Church with Johnny Turner, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Mr. Johnson passed away Monday, May 30, 2011 in Memphis, TX. Tommie was born June 25, 1931 in Rosebud, TX to the late Mr. Ralph McNack Sr. and Mrs. Corell (Kelly) McNack. He attended schools in Rosebud, TX. He moved to Memphis where he was a farmer for many years. Mr. Johnson accepted Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age. On March 24, 1954 he was united in marriage to Bertha Mae “Bert” McFalls in Memphis, TX. To this union was born eight children. She preceded him in death on December 11, 1999. Tommie served as a Trustee and a Deacon at Mount Zion Baptist Church for several decades. He was preceded in death by his son, Tommie Donnell Johnson. He is survived by six sons, Danny McFalls and wife Patricia of Memphis, TX; Tommie Johnson Jr. and wife Jackie of Okmulgee, OK; Larry Johnson and wife Cleola, Glenn Johnson and wife LaSheria, Anthony Johnson and Wesley Johnson all of Memphis, TX; two daughters, Gloria Johnson Turner and husband Johnny of Amarillo, TX; Neta Johnson of Sherman, TX; one sister, Mary Lee Brown of Houston, TX; one brother, Ralph McNack Jr. of Houston, TX; his aunt, Lois Formar of Killeen, TX; 36 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
