Ruby K. Thornton

Graveside services for Ruby K. Thornton, 101, of Memphis, TX will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Downey, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis, TX. Miss Thornton passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007 in Norman, Oklahoma. Ruby was born on July 31, 1905 in Memphis, TX to the late Mr. Edward Thornton and Mrs. Ardena Hazard Thornton. She was a graduate of Memphis High School. She worked as a seamstress out of her house for a number of years. Ruby also worked for Bullard cleaners for many years until changing its name to Beason cleaners and worked there until retiring. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church and of Memphis, TX. She is survived by two nieces, Wynema Stewart and husband Billy of Norman, OK; Teresa Carson of Norman, OK; one great nephew, Billy Edward Stewart and wife Rena of Ada, OK.
