Graveside services for Margaret Pearl Owens, 94, of Bedford, TX will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery in Canadian, TX with Rev. Paul Stohler, officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Owens passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011 in Bedford, TX. Margaret was born July 17, 1916 in Hemphill County to the late Mr. John Lewis Ramsey and Mrs. Myrtie Jane (Hoobler) Ramsey. She attended grammar school at Blue Ridge in Gem City and then went on to graduate from Allison High School. She married Brady Hanna on February 22, 1942 in Arnett, OK. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1968. While living in Hemphill County she worked as an operator for the telephone company. She later moved to Dumas, TX and went to work for the Dumas Independent School District as an administrative secretary for 16 years. Margaret married Curley Owens on August 11, 1976 in Dumas, TX. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2001. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dumas, TX. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her son, Ray Hanna and wife Lynda of Euless, TX; her granddaughter, Rachel Hess of Abilene, TX; her great-grandson, Tyson Hess of Abilene, TX; her niece, Lynis Hefner of White Deer, TX.
