Memorial services for Mr. Fountain “Pee Wee” Boughan, 85, of Higgins, TX will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Higgins High School Auditorium with Roy Lee Harris, officiating. Cremation is under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mr. Boughan passed away Tuesday, February 01, 2011 in Canadian, TX. Pee Wee was born April 21, 1925 in Hardwood, OK to the late Mr. John Dennis Boughan and Mrs. Mami (Clark) Boughan. He attended schools in Bishop, OK. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II. He married Vonda Purcell on August 11, 1956 in Portales, NM. Pee Wee was a rancher where he loved the cowboy life and always followed the cowboy code. He has been a cowboy in New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma and Texas. He was also a mule guide in the Grand Canyon. Pee Wee was a team roper, musician and song writer. He was preceded in death by one brother, Leroy Boughan, two sisters, Rowena Whittle and Virginia Lee Boughan, two brother-in-laws, Bill and Gene Purcell. He is survived by his wife, Vonda Boughan of Higgins, TX; one daughter, Dianna Kay Boughan of Higgins, TX; one brother, Buck Boughan and wife Thelma of Higgins, TX; one sister, Rama Deeds and husband Lewis of Higgins, TX; four grandchildren, Jonathan Hammons and wife Micah, Shawn Hammons and wife Lisa, Jeannie Fisher and Matthew Hammons and wife Kim all of Higgins, TX; 11 great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
