Theresia M. Hodges

Services for Mrs. Theresia M. Hodges, 85, of Canadian, TX will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, January 30, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Sanders, officiating and Donald Hill, assisting. Burial will follow in Edith Ford Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Canadian, TX. Mrs. Hodges passed away Friday, January 28, 2011 in Canadian, TX. Theresia was born May 19, 1925 in Gleiwitz, Germany to the late Mr. Joseph Niklas and Mrs. Martha (Wetezy) Niklas. She graduated High School in Germany. She served in the German Air Force from 1943 to 1945. She married Bill Hodges on December 16, 1945 in Windshiem, Germany. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2009. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son, Ricky Hodges and wife Barbara of Canadian, TX; three daughters, Marie Maupin, Becky Harper and husband Freddie and Beverly Dickinson and husband Bob all of Canadian, TX; her sister-in-law, Hearta Niklas of Nuremburg, Germany; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two nephews, cousins and many friends. The family suggests memorials be made to Hemphill County Hospice, 1020 South Fourth St., Canadian, TX 79014 or First United Methodist Church, 520 Main St., Canadian, TX 79014.
